My son couldn’t get to sleep tonight, so I told him he could come to bed with me. After a few minutes he came with his shirt full of toys to sleep with: 7 cars, a helicopter, a larger train, a pony, a turtle, and a barbie type doll without a head. We’ll see how this goes.

More and more in life I find myself having more compassion on others whose life experiences I can not personally relate to.  I think God allows us to walk through challenges, hurts, and messes in our own lives to get a glimpse of the realm of what likely everyone is challenged by in this thing we call life. We don’t all carry the same burdens, though there is one person we can all carry those burdens to (Matthew 11:28-30).  Walking down the path God has allowed before me and clinging to Him doesn’t make it easy, but I can’t imagine how I’d do it if He weren’t walking beside me through it all. This post about miscarriage is one I can only relate to because of those I love who have had this loss, but I read it and can acknowledge in a new way the struggle it must be. We all carry so much, and often try to keep it hidden, but I pray that as we think of this we choose to open up to help others not believe the lie that they are alone, that we have greater and deeper compassion on and patience with others as they walk with challenges we may never know, and most importantly, may we trust God, who truly loves and cares about us to carry that load for us. He is faithful. As I said before, our circumstances may not change, but his presence with us makes it possible to take each next step.  “Come to me…” He calls..
