So much to do

So little motivation

So little time

But

Strength from the Lord

Power over the enemy

A hand to hold for the road

A road map for the path

Primary Goal:

Love the Lord with

All my heart

All my soul

All my mind

All my strength

And

Love others

As myself

So…

In all I do today,

I want to be loving and act in love:

Have positive attitude

Set example to children

Be kind

Use calm voice

Be clear

Be patient

Love is

Patient

Kind

Doesn’t envy/is not jealous

Doesn’t boast

Isn’t proud

Isn’t rude

Does not demand its own way

Is not irritable/easily angered/provoked/irritable or resentful

Keeps no record of wrong

Does not rejoice in evil

Rejoices with the truth

Always protects/never gives up/bears all things

Always trusts/never loses faith

Always hopes/is always hopeful

Always perseveres/endures through every circumstance

Love never fails/ends/will last forever

God IS Love

God never fails/ends/will last forever

Thank you, God

As I was praying and asking God to help me prioritize the activities of my day, this is what came to mind:

So much to do

So little motivation

So little time

But

Strength from the Lord

Power over the enemy

A hand to hold for the road

A road map for the path

The next thing that came to mind is that my priority is to “Love the Lord…and love others.” I thought, ok, easy enough, I need to remember that in all I do today, I need to act in love. Then 1 Corinthians 13 came to mind, which defines what love is, and WOW, there is sure a lot to love. I begin to feel defeated before starting, knowing it is impossible to get it all right. Then I was reminded that love is a fruit of the Holy Spirit at work in my life. Of course I can’t do it on my own, but I’m not walking through life alone!  Thank you, God, for walking alongside me while leading me and guarding me on all sides!

“One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?”   “The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.  Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’  The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’  There is no commandment greater than these.”
Mark 12:28-31 NIV

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.  Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.” 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 NIV

“Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.”

1 John 4:7-12 NIV

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.” Galatians 5:22-25 NIV
